ZCM - Sample Points

Creating a Sample Point

The compositions which are imported into Zedi Access will need to be attached to a Sample Point. There are two ways that you can create a Sample Point, from the Location Panel of a Site or from a pending analysis that is not yet attached to a Sample Point.

Create Sample Point from the Location Panel

1. Click on the Site from the Location Hierarchy.

2. Click on 'Sample Points' from the Location Panel.

                  Linking Sample Points

(In the sample point creation form)

Linking a device is how the Zedi Composition Management application knows which analysis to write to the data and to which device in Zedi Access. You can link to Zedi Access Devices and/or create and link “Other Meters” not on Zedi Access.

                  Linking a Zedi Access Device

At the bottom of the Sample Point page you will see a section called ‘Link Devices’ here you can link the sample point to a device that exists in Zedi Access. If it does not exist in Zedi Access you will not be able to select it.

                  1. Click the search box in the link devices section. Start entering one of the following searchable items Well Name, UWI, Serial # and Zedi meter code into the device box. As you type devices will start populating in a dropdown list, any device already linked to a sample point will be greyed out.

                  2. The top section of the box is reserved for Zedi Access devices and the bottom is reserved for non-Zedi Access meters, select the device from the top section you are looking for. Please note that you can also link child wells from the Zedi Access Well Test application.

                    3. Once your device has been linked to this Sample Point it will populate below. There is no limit to how many devices you can link (to unlink a device, simply click the button).

                    4. Click ‘Save’.

IMPORTANT: The devices that Zedi Composition Management can update are Zedi TrueChart, Smart-Alek, ROC, Floboss, SCADA Pack and Total Flow.

                    Linking a Non-Zedi Meter

IMPORTANT: Any Non-Zedi Meters will not have the composition written directly to the device as they must be on Zedi Access for this to happen.

                    1. A Non-Zedi meter must be manually created before you can link it, please reference the ‘Meters’ section below.

                    2. Follow the same steps as linking a Zedi Access device.

                      3. When you see your device populate in the list select it and it will display in the linked devices section.

                           a. Zedi Meter.

                           b. Non Zedi Meter.

                      4. Click ‘Save’.
