ZCM - Analyses and Accepting
Each analysis will need to be linked to a sample point and approved before your analysis will be live in production.
View Pending Analysis
You can view the analyses pending approval by either:
- Clicking 'Fluid Analysis' from the main menu bar and then selecting 'Pending'.
OR - Clicking on the blue button in the secondary function bar. This button will tell you how many analyses are pending approvals .
A list of your pending analysis will appear. You can filter through your list of pending analysis by typing in the ‘Filter Results’ box any of the following criteria’s:
- Product, Well Name, LSD, UWI, Field/Area, Pool/Zone, Source, Sample Gathering Point, Lab Name, Container Id, Lab Number, Sampling Company, Operator Name, Sample Point Name, Sample Point Code, Sample Point Location, or Sample Point UWI.
There are 4 different icons you will encounter on the far right hand side of the ‘Pending’ screen:
- No sample point linked - analysis is not associated with a sample point.
- Pending Approval - analysis passed import and historical trend validation.
- Historical information – this is historical analysis info sent from the lab.
- One or more issues were discovered during validation.
If the analysis has not been linked to a Sample Point you can do so in the Pending screen by typing in the name of the Sample Point and selecting it from the dropdown menu, your work will be saved automatically.
If your Sample Point needs to be created you can open the analysis, click the ‘Add Sample Point’ button and it will take you to the create sample point screen. When searching for a Sample Point you can search using the following criteria: Sample Point Name, Sample Point Code, Sample Point Location and Sample Point UWI.
Click anywhere on the line of the analysis you would like to view and a drop-down window will open with a snap-shot of the analysis information:
If your Sample Point is linked it will appear as you see below. You can edit and unlink the sample point by clicking the
icon, this will also allow you to go and link any new devices to the sample point.
a. Is the Sample Point the analysis is linked to and all the linked meters.
i. Shows the linked Zedi Access and Non-Zedi Access meters.
b. Date of Analysis.
c. Click 'View' to see the Standard or Extended reports for the analysis.
d. Lab information.
e. Well and location information.
f. Pressure and Temperature information.
g. Sample information.
h. Current sample information.
i. Historical sample information on that sample point (if available).
j. Any issues noted by Zedi can be found in the yellow box.
k. Ignore Analysis.
l. Accept Analysis.
m. More historical sample information.
View Standard and Extended Analysis Reports (Gas Wells)
From the Pending Analysis list or within the search results you can View your Standard or Extended Analysis reports:

In the top right corner of the Standard Analysis you can change the view to the Extended Analysis
(The Standard Gas Analysis Report is also included in the Extended Gas Analysis Report).
Approve or Reject Pending Analysis
Each pending analysis needs to be approved or rejected. Once you view your analysis in the pending list you can decide to either Accept or Reject it.
Approve Analysis
If your analysis meets your criteria click Accept in the Pending Analysis screen.
- A pop-up window will open. Insert your comments for your approval.
- Choose your Effective Date
IMPORTANT: The Effective Date is when the Zedi Composition Management application will write the analysis you approved down to the device. The effective date is defaulted to the start of the next month, if you would like to apply it before or immediately you can just select the calendar and choose the date you would like to have it applied.
3. Select Approve.
IMPORTANT: An analysis that needs to be approved and written to a device must equal a total that falls in between the AGA-8 allowable ranges of 98% - 102% for the device to be successfully updated. If it falls outside this range you can still approve an analysis BUT IT WILL NOT be updated to the device.
4. Once approved your analysis will be removed from the pending list and can be viewed in the history found in the Search function.
Reject Analysis
If the analysis does not meet your criteria, click 'Reject'
in the Pending Analysis screen.
- Enter in your reason for rejection.
- Click 'Reject'.
Revert Rejected Analysis back to Pending
Once you have rejected an analysis you can revert it back to the pending state. However, once a new analysis has come into the application from the lab you will no longer be able to revert a rejected analysis, it will stay rejected.
1. Select 'Fluid Analysis’ from the Main Menu bar.
2. Click 'Search'.
3. Enter your search criteria in the search bar.
4. Find your analysis in the search results and click the yellow 'Pending' button.
5. You will now be able to see this analysis in the 'Pending' section. You must have the appropriate permissions to do this.
Overdue Analysis
All analysis that have not been sent into Zedi Access in the time frame specified under the ‘Sample Point’ will show up in the ‘Overdue Analysis’ page. This feature will allow you to see which Sample Points need to be sampled as they have exceeded the allowable number of days and you can also view upcoming due analysis to stay so you can schedule them to be sampled.
1. Click the orange bulb on the secondary function bar. The number in the bulb will indicate how many overdue analysis you have.
2. The ‘Overdue Sample Points’ Screen will open. Here you can snooze each Sample Point for 1 day, 1 week, 1, month or 3 months and it will remove itself off of the list for that time frame. Once a new analysis has come in for that Sample Point it will automatically remove itself from the list.
a. The date in which your overdue analysis will display up to.
b. Your Sample point name and link to the Sample point so you can make edits if necessary.
c. Sample Point information and frequency.
d. Date of when the next sample is due.
e. Number of days overdue.
f. Snooze to temporarily remove the analysis off the list.
To view upcoming due analysis just change the date to the future date you would like to report to.
1. Select the date from the calendar and the list will automatically display.
2. All future due analyses will display in a negative number.
To leave the overdue Sample Points page just click on the ‘Operations icon’ in the Secondary function bar.
Export Analysis
All approved analyses can be exported from Zedi Access into Excel.
1. Select 'Fluid Analysis' from the Main Menu bar.
2. Click 'Search'.
3. Enter your search criteria in the search bar.
4. Select the analysis for export. More than one analysis can be selected at one time (only approved analyses can be exported).
5. Choose the format in which you would like to export it in. Metrix, PAS, PDF, PetroNet, Simplified Gas CSV, Standard CSV or TIPS – Gas Export.
Analysis Search
Use the fluid analysis search function to find any analyses in any state (pending, approved, rejected) that has been uploaded into Zedi Access.
1. Select 'Fluid Analysis' from the Main Menu bar.
2. Click 'Search'.
3. Enter your search criteria in the search bar.
4. Optional: Click on 'Advanced Search' to narrow your results.
5. Click 'Search'.

b. Sample Date - Date received by lab, lab report date, effective date, or approved date.
c. Start Date.
d. End Date.
e. Analysis Status - All, pending, approved, rejected, or historical.
f. Device Sync Statuses - All, applied, manual pending, pending, processing, or failed.
g. Sample Point Statuses - All, active, exempt, or inactive.
h. Products - All, gas hydrocarbon, oil, or water.
i. All Lab - All, AGAT Laboratories, Core Laboratories, Exova, or Maxxam Analytics.
j. Sampling Frequencies - All, Every month, 6 months, Every year, or Every 2 years.
k. Export Format - Metrix, PetroNet, or Standard CSV.
l. Select All Approved - Select all the approved analyses from the list below.
6. Your list will appear below.
7. There are 3 different icons you will encounter under the product type column and 4 different icons under the status type column. If you hover your mouse over them you will get an explanation of what they represent.

Device Synchronization is Pending - the analysis has been approved and is waiting to be written to the device.
Device Synchronization Success - the analysis has been approved and written to the device successfully.
Device Synchronization Failed - the analysis has been approved, but was not written to the device successfully.
Pending Status - the analysis is waiting to be approved or rejected.
Accepted Status - the analysis has been approved.
Ignored Status - the analysis has been rejected.
Rejected Pending Status - the analysis has been rejected, but if you have correct permissions you can move it back to the ‘Pending’ status.
8. You can now export your list or view the detailed report for each analysis.
